# Set up the company

> The four Setup items, then one real customer.

Open **Setup** in the left sidebar. The lane is **Launch today**. These four items are what a new workspace needs before the first real invoice. Each one has **Skip**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Your company">
    Click **Add company details**. Check the business name, address, phone, and country, then save. Most of this came from signup. Card payments use this country, so set it before you connect Jomioz Payments.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tax details">
    Click **Add tax details**. Save the legal name and tax ID, then the tax defaults (whether you are registered to collect tax, and whether prices include tax). Some countries block the first invoice until this is saved. The signup success screen calls that **Confirm tax profile**. Extra checks for your country are in [Rules for your country](/help/your-country).
  </Step>

  <Step title="How you get paid">
    Pick one. You do not need both on day one.

    * **Add bank details** opens **Settings → Invoices**, on **Configuration**. Turn on **Bank transfer** and fill **Bank transfer details** (**Account holder**, **Bank name**, and the account fields for your country, such as **Sort code** and **Account number**, or **IBAN**). Save. Those details print on the invoice.
    * **Set up card payments** is [Jomioz Payments](/integrations/stripe). You are ready when it says **Ready to accept payments**, and **Accept card payments on invoices** is on.

    **Cash** is also a payment method if you take money in person and record it yourself. **Save & send** stays off until at least one method is on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Your hours">
    Click **Set your hours**. Turn on the days you work and set a start and end time. Find a Time will not offer a slot on a closed day. You can still type a visit time by hand.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add one real customer">
    In the main left sidebar, open **Customers** and click **New customer**. Save a name, an email, and the address where the work happens. The email is where the estimate and invoice go. The address is what the schedule uses.

    Or click **Import**, download the template, and put one customer on each row. Every row needs a name, an email, and a full address (street, city, state or region, and postcode). If that email is already in the list, choose **Leave the existing customer as-is** or **Update the existing customer with this row**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  The example customer from signup uses your own email. Send the example estimate to yourself if you want to see Client Hub before a real customer. Archive that row from the customer list when you want it gone. Do not delete a customer that already has a payment.
</Info>

Service area, a logo, and a price book are not on this list. They are under **Setup → More settings**, and they can wait until after the first job.
