# How to move a visit

> Drag a visit, jump it forward, or shift several jobs at once.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Drag it">
    On **Schedule**, drag the visit to a new time or day. If appointment confirmation is set to ask, Jomioz prompts before it emails the customer the new time. That prompt is [Job settings](/settings/jobs) → **After moving a job on the calendar, prompt to email the customer the new time**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Jump it forward">
    Right-click the visit, or use the visit menu: **Tomorrow**, **Next week**, or a coming weekday. Keyboard shortcuts for the same moves are listed under **Options → Keyboard shortcuts** on the schedule.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find a better slot">
    On the visit, click **Find better time**. That runs the same search as Find a Time, starting from this visit. See [Find a Time](/help/schedule-find-time).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Move several jobs">
    On **Jobs**, select the rows, then **Bulk actions → Move dates…**. Every open visit on those jobs shifts by the number of days you enter. Start times stay the same. Negative days pull the work earlier. Visits already worked are left alone. **Tell customers about the new time** is off unless you turn it on.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Edit schedule** on a visit changes its title, notes, arrival window, and team in one place.

You cannot drag a visit that is completed, skipped, or cancelled. Reopen it first. **Undo** on the schedule puts back the last change.

Pausing is different from moving. **Pause visit** keeps it on the board and holds it. **Leave incomplete** pauses it and schedules a return trip. **Cancel visit** takes that one stop off. **Delete visit** removes it. The job stays.

## What the customer hears

If appointment confirmation is set to ask, a move opens **Notify customer about this visit change?** **Save without notifying** keeps the new time off the customer’s inbox. **Save & notify by email** and **Save & notify by WhatsApp** send it. Cancelling a visit can ask **Tell the customer this visit is cancelled?** for the same reason.

## Repeating visits

If the visit is part of a repeating plan, the dialog is **Apply schedule change**. **This visit only** moves that stop. **This and all future visits** shifts the rest of the series by the same amount. Past visits stay where they are.

## When it will not move

Completed, skipped, or cancelled visits stay put. The message is **Completed, skipped, or cancelled visits can’t be moved. Reopen first.** Reopen the visit, then drag it.

**Find better time** needs a customer on the job. If there is none, it says to add a customer first. A missing service address means the ranked search cannot use travel time.

If the new time overlaps someone already booked, **Scheduling conflict** appears. **Save anyway** double-books on purpose. A softer warning covers working hours, time off, or another calendar block. **Cancel** leaves the visit where it was.

**Undo last change** is under **Options → Keyboard shortcuts**, and **Undo** on the schedule puts back the last move.

Holding the whole job, rather than one visit, is [Hold, cancel, or delete a job](/help/job-hold).
