# Equipment types

> Turn on the register, then define the kit you service and how often it is checked.

Open **Settings → Equipment types**. This page is there when equipment is available for your workspace. The register itself is off until you turn it on.

## Show the register

**Show equipment register** adds a due list, an **Equipment** section on the customer, and faults on visits. While it is off, the Equipment page says the register is off and offers **Turn on & set up types**.

With it on:

| Control | Effect |
| -------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Due-soon lead time | How many days ahead a check counts as **Due soon**, on the register and in the office digest. From 1 to 365 days |
| Daily digest to the office | One message a day listing what is overdue and what is coming up. Not one message per unit |
| Warranty digest | A separate switch for warranties that are about to end. It does not follow the due digest |

## Types and intervals

A type is a kind of kit (boiler, extinguisher, split system) and the checks that apply to it.

**Start from country list** (or **Set up types**) adds the usual types and intervals for your country pack. Pick the ones you actually work on. Types already in your catalog are marked **Already added**. Your later edits are kept if you check the pack again.

The pack states its own support level next to that offer:

| Level | What it means |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Statutory | Based on this country’s legal check intervals |
| Assisted | Common checks from wider rules, plus normal service intervals. Not a full legal guide |
| No legal claim | Common service intervals only. Edit them to match what you do |

Those figures are a starting point. A contract can require something stricter. Open **Intervals** on a type and set **Every (months)**. Saving recalculates due dates. Some intervals are **Computed from each unit** (refrigerant charge, inspection class) and have no single number on the type.

**New type** is for kit the country list does not cover. Name it, pick a **Trade** or **No trade**, choose which details the add-equipment form should ask for, and add **Recurring checks**. A check can name a form. Completing that form on a visit is what advances the due date. **No form** means an engineer marking the unit serviced is enough. A type with no checks is only a record. It never shows as due.

**Archive this type?** keeps it on equipment you already have. You cannot pick it for anything new.

## On a customer

On the customer, **Equipment → Add equipment**. Choose the type, the site, where it sits on site, make, model, and serial. **Installed** can be blank. Due dates then count from when the unit was first seen and are marked **Estimated**. They firm up after the first completed check.

The register (**Equipment** in the sidebar) lists every unit, overdue first. Filters include **Overdue**, **Due soon**, **Needs review**, **With defects**, **Warranty ending**, and **Replaced & removed**. **Needs review** means it was recorded with gaps. Fill in make, model, and serial.

A duplicate serial on the same customer warns that it may be the same unit twice. **Save anyway** if it really is a second one.
