These are different. Hold keeps the job. Cancel marks it as not going ahead. Delete removes the record.

Put it on hold

On the job, open More and click Put on hold. Add a reason if you want (waiting on parts, waiting on approval). Bring it back on is optional. Until the end of that day, the job stays out of Needs you. After that day it comes back as work to schedule. Resume job is in the same More menu. The status chip shows On hold while it is paused. A paused visit is separate: that holds one stop, not the whole job. See How to move a visit.

Cancel it

On the Jobs list, open the row menu and click Cancel job. You can also select several rows and use Bulk actions → Cancel. The job is marked Cancelled. You can change the status later. If Email the customer when a job is cancelled is on in Job settings, they get that email. If the customer declines the appointment from the confirmation email, the job either stays scheduled (staff are notified) or is cancelled automatically. That choice is also in Job settings, under appointment confirmation. Cancelling the job is not the same as Cancel visit, which only removes one stop.

Delete it

On the job, open More and click Delete job. On the list, the row menu has the same action. Confirm it. The record is gone, including its reference. This cannot be undone. Do not delete a job you still need for the invoice or the history. Cancel it, or close it, instead. Jobs with a recorded payment are skipped when you delete from a multi-select, so the payment record is not dropped with the row.

Reopen

On a closed job, More → Reopen job puts it back so you can work it again.
