Open Settings → Checklists. A template is the list. A job or an estimate gets its own copy when the template is attached. Editing the template later does not rewrite a checklist someone has already completed.

Create a template

Click Add new template. The dialog is Create checklist. Name it, then add at least one item. Save is refused with Add at least one checklist item if the list is empty. Section groups items. Each row is one step. The step types are: Required on a step means the job or the estimate cannot be finished until that step is done. The tooltip says employees cannot finish without completing it. A required checklist is why Finish visit stays blocked. The visit wrap-up says Mark checklist complete. Automatically add to new jobs attaches this template to jobs created after you turn it on. Jobs that already exist are not backfilled. Where it can be attached chooses which screens offer this template when someone adds a checklist: Jobs, Estimates, Recurring jobs, and Job templates. Visit checklists already sitting on a scheduled job are left as they are.

On the list

Columns are Name, Items, Required, Auto add, and Attach on. Edit, Duplicate, and Delete are on the row. Duplicate names the copy (name) (copy). Delete template? is permanent. It does not delete checklists already filled in on old jobs.

Completion report

Checklist completion report shows how templates are being completed across work. That report is not where you edit the template.
